The renaissance of private hotels
HIAMO is the very essence of our ideas for the hotel industry in the 21st century. In this company, we are now bundling all our experience, beliefs and visions in order to set new impulses and to help maintain the private hotel industry, in which we see enormous potential, especially after the Corona crisis. With our knowledge of the industry – especially with regard to chain and corporate structures -, our technical know-how and our various experiences as entrepreneurs, managers and hosts, we consider ourselves perfectly equipped to more than satisfy this exciting challenge and to let something wonderful come into place here.
People and technology
Most recently, we have successfully built up and sold the prizeotel brand, which we developed from 2006 to 2019 with a lot of enthusiasm and energy from a small start-up to the economy brand of one of the largest hotel groups in the world (Radisson Hotel Group). Even then, we were among the innovative leaders in our industry in terms of technology. In 2008, we already launched a video podcast to promote our first hotel. Since 2010, we had a channel manager specially programmed for our needs with the corresponding own IBE (Internet Booking Engine). And also the accounting was already more and more digitalised in the early years. In 2015, we were one of the first hotel groups to introduce mobile check-in. All of these are just a few examples of how we used the digitalisation for us at an early stage. At HIAMO, we are expanding these expertise with AI (artificial intelligence) and robotics – without losing sight of the guest experience.
However, for us, the hotel industry is still a people business. We are working together with people for people and this will remain the case in the future, which is why the core of our new company is the people. For this reason, among others, we have founded the AG to provide each team member with an individual sharesaving plan of “his/hers” company. In addition, we create attractive jobs for the best in our industry – and those who would like to be – by offering wages and salaries that are far above the industry-standard rates, as well as an attendant bonus system. Our goal is to build a medium-sized family business with many highly qualified and committed people who all work together, and for as long as possible.
A sustainable business model
Our strategy is based on maintaining entrepreneurial independence as a prerequisite for targeted and sustainable corporate performance. In this context, the focus is on a healthy risk-return ratio, growing earnings and net asset value and, associated with this, increasing market capitalisation. Concentrating on the expansion and development of profitable and sustainable hotel properties ensures a healthy corporate substance. Building on this, we strive to develop ever new feasible visions and realise them by creating modern, individual and more or less privately managed hotels under the HIAMO AG brand – as individual, independent and locally influenced brands. In doing so, we pursue an owner-operator model, in which the developed hotels basically remain in our portfolio.
Initially, we will focus entirely on the takeover and restructuring of existing hotels. For the future, completely new developments are also planned.
